Server log files during hosting
With each visit, our web server automatically stores: your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the page you came from, as well as details about your browser and operating system. This is technically necessary for the website to be delivered.
We use this data to operate the website stably and securely, to defend against attacks, and to track how often individual pages are accessed. The legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO; our legitimate interest lies in the secure operation of the website. Raw data is deleted at the latest after 90 days. Aggregated figures without IP addresses are retained for longer.
The server is operated by a hosting provider that processes the data only on our behalf.
Cloudflare
Our website and our email address run through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare delivers pages faster, protects against attacks, and forwards emails to our mailbox. In doing so, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical connection data.
The legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO; our legitimate interest lies in a fast and secure website. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission additionally apply. More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
Images from GetYourGuide
The tour photos are loaded directly from the servers of GetYourGuide (GetYourGuide Deutschland GmbH, Sonnenburger Straße 73, 10437 Berlin). To display an image, your browser sends your IP address to GetYourGuide. We have no influence on this.
The legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO; our legitimate interest lies in showing you tours with current provider photos. You can find the GetYourGuide privacy policy on getyourguide.com.
Partner links to GetYourGuide
Links to tours are forwarded via our own domain (addresses beginning with /go/) to GetYourGuide. The forwarding appears in our server log files like any other visit. The link contains our partner ID so that GetYourGuide can attribute a booking to us.
GetYourGuide sets its own cookies and processes data according to its own privacy policy only on the GetYourGuide website. We receive only summarized commission reports from GetYourGuide, but no names, no contact details, and no payment data.
YouTube videos
We embed YouTube videos in an extended privacy mode. As long as you do not press Play, no connection to YouTube is established and no data is sent to YouTube. Only after you click does your browser load the video from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). In doing so, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies, among other things.
The legal basis is your consent through the click, Article 6(1) lit. a GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. More on this: policies.google.com/privacy
Storage in browser
So that the website remembers your settings, we store the following in your browser's local storage: the currency you have chosen, whether you have hidden the booking bar, and whether an info window has already appeared in this session. These details remain on your device and are not transmitted to us.
This is absolutely necessary for the function you want (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). You can delete the data at any time in your browser settings.
Contact by email, phone, or form
If you write to us or call us, we process your details to answer your request. The contact form opens your own email program; no data is stored on our website itself. The legal basis is Article 6(1) lit. f GDPR, and for questions about a contract Article 6(1) lit. b GDPR. We delete your message as soon as it has been handled and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to sources such as Visit Tromsø, Wikipedia, or weather services. Data is only sent to these providers when you click a link. In that case, the respective provider's privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right to information (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), and data portability (Article 20). If we process data on the basis of legitimate interest, you may object at any time (Article 21 GDPR). You may revoke a consent at any time for the future. An email to [email protected] is sufficient.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the Bavarian Data Protection Authority, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach.
We do not make automated decisions about you and do not create profiles. You are not obligated to provide us with data; however, without the technically necessary connection data, the website cannot be displayed.
